A little list

pumpkin pie spice
brown sugar
powdered sugar

What do all of these things have in common?
They have all experienced hurricane Clark.

He was 'cleaning' the table.
Entertaining Lexi while I made dinner.
Just bored I guess.

My morning by the numbers

5-times my baby threw up by 10am
4-shirts I've gone through this morning
3-pairs of pants I've gone through
2-age of my neglected eldest

No fun.

She may look like she loves food, but looks can be deceiving. In reality, she spits and cries when I feed her. She sure takes a cute picture though!

On halloween we're gone most of the night and get very few trick or treaters when we are there (3 this year). This year I decided not to buy candy and to hand out granola bars. I guess Clark thought since Lexi could have rice cereal, she should be able to enjoy as many bars as she could hold.

My little monkeys!

Clark and Lexi were the cutest monkey and banana ever! Clark was very protective of his little sis and would not let anyone eat her. (Several people asked if they could.)

Who knew a pirate and a monkey could be such good buds.

Kali, Clark, & Carter had a lot of fun trick or treating together. I love that the boys are holding hands. After the first few houses, Clark turned to me all wide-eyed and said, "Do all the houses have candy for me!?!" What a fun Halloween!
I found an amazing deal (about $2) on a cute butterfly costume for Lexi next year so Clark kept aksing me when Lexi was going to be a "blooderfly". Very appropriate for the season!

Best Friends

Clark's cousin Carter is about 9 weeks older than him. They're good buddies and see each other a lot. Some days the boys play great together and other days we hope they stay in separate rooms so that they don't kill one another:) A few days ago we were over at their house to play. The boys were playing side by side when Carter leaned over and put his arms around Clark. They leaned their heads together and Carter said "You're my bestest friend ever." Where's a video camera when you need one?!? It was so dang cute and I was the only one lucky enough to see it so I thought I would share it the rest of you. I hope they are this close for years to come.

trucks & trailers

Clark loves trucks & trailers. One of his favorite things is to help haul hay in Sammy's white truck or Jason's maroon truck and pull the black trailer. He is always asking Daddy or PaPa for a ride on the yellow or blue or red 4wheeler with the little black trailer. This boy can (and will) turn ANYTHING into a trailer! Here are a few of his most recent trailers, including one that Daddy is building for him.
Anybody else want a ride?
He was trying to hook Lexi to his bike with a zucchini before Daddy helped him.
I told you anything could be a trailer.
Thanks Daddy!

Don't forget about me!

We blessed Lexi the beginning of the month along with her cousin Tate. Clark has handled no longer being the only child great, but apparently he didn't want this weekend to be all about Lexi. Friday night we had a lot of fun at the ward swim party, but he woke up the next morning complaining that his tummy hurt (figured out later that he meant his chest). I set him up with a blanket and a bowl (just in case;) and he watched Cars (his favorite). He watched the movie while I fed Lexi and I noticed that he was wheezing so he did his inhaler. By about 11:30 he was really wheezy and I thought he might need more than I could do for him so we called the doctor and were told to come in. Kodi took Lexi to my Mom's (Barney was helping at the farm and then at work) and we headed out. We found out that Clark had pneumonia (in August!?!). And as if I wasn't stressing enough, we find out he may have to be in the hospital. Wonderful Dr. Freestone, who was oncall for our reg doc, did all he could to keep Clark at home. We saw him 3 times in less than 24 hours. After a very long night of waking Clark up every 3 hours for breathing treatment and meds, he was sounding much better. Sunday Alexis Mae and Tate James were both blessed. Barney and Jody each did a great job. Lexi looks grumpy in most of the pics, but she's actually a very smiley baby! It was fun to see all of our family and friends who came. We were especially glad to see Kristen and Ellie. Thanks for letting us use your dress Ellie. Thank you to Mom, Dad, sisters, brothers-in-law, & anyone else who helped watch Lexi so that she wasn't completely neglected all day while I took care of Clark and Barney had to be gone! You all are the reason that I didn't completely lose it (just partially;)!

(pics to follow, sorry I'm still fairly blog/computer illiterate!)

Alexis Mae

Alexis Mae
May 1st at 2:32 am
7 lbs 9 oz
19 in long
Alexis is here and it only took me two months to post a picture (I hope you're sitting down Kristen)! I'll try to be better, but no promises ;) She is a good baby and loves being snuggled. As you can see from the pictures, Clark loves his new sister and is a great little helper...most of the time! We're still not sure how he got into the stroller without sqishing her.

YX Tbl !!!

One month away from having another kid-len in the house! Barn (that's me) is still in escuela and counting the days until the semester's out, Sholb's at home "tending" Clark...although Clark's got a pretty good handle on things. Yesterday we were watching some Superman cartoons to help Clark feel better (he up-chucked a little bit after his nap), and at one point there was a monster that Clark called a dinosaur. It's too early for the boy to know the Genus and Species, so I let error slide. So I resume watching the cartoon, meanwhile he turns around, buries his face in my shirt and bites...my nipple! I almost cried (first time in like 6-7 years). Clark said he was being a dinosaur. I felt like swinging.
